The iPhone 5c was released last year as a lower-cost option for Apple. According to Taiwan’s industrial and commercial times Apple will discontinue the iPhone 5c in the middle of 2015. It is likely that they are stopping production of the iPhone 5c to streamline the handsets to be equipped with a touch ID fingerprint sensor. Apple has also made this decision base on the demand of the iPhone 5s, as they had to speed up production of the 5s to keep up with demands.
The iPhone 5c did not break sales between individual iPhone models; Apple did indicate that the iPhone 5c ended up representing a smaller mix of iPhone sales than anticipated. The company was expecting a more balanced demand between the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s when they released them together.
